Aaron Hewson

Kia ora!

I'm Aaron, and I love both people and the planet. Agriculture is the expression of these passions, with my interests being the issue of feeding humanity sustainably while caring for the Earth we are fortunate to have. I am a University of Otago student, studying a BA majoring in Asian Studies and Religious Studies, and a BSc majoring in Agricultural Innovation and Plant Biotechnology. My aim is to unite both arts and science to have a real positive impact on the future of agriculture and thereby the future of humanity.

 One policy change I’d like to see: Risk-based and flexible legislation for genetic technologies, to benefit from the many potential applications while preserving our natural environments.

If I could choose one superpower: Fly, so I can connect people and the environment together.
