Greer Manderson - Board Member / COO
Hello!
I’m 24 years young and absolutely passionate about regenerative agriculture; ways of farming that support and optimise agroecological functions, taking care of environment, people, and profit - it all starts in the soil!
Born and raised in Whangarei, my access to the agricultural scene was through my family’s company, Avoca. I moved to Christchurch where I gained a BSc(Biological and Environmental Sciences) from the University of Canterbury and a BSc(First Class Honours) from Lincoln University.
Being an agroecological / regenerative agriculture coach and educator is my ultimate expression, of which I have had ~18months experience with Natural Performance Ltd. Currently, I’m the Science Engagement Lead for Quorum Sense, focused on merging research and ‘grassroots’ farmer knowledge together to create a holistic approach to farmers’ learning and adoption of regenerative ways of farming nationwide. I’m also a founding Board Member and the COO of Future Farmers New Zealand. Outside the agricultural space, I’m a qualified Group Fitness Instructor (HIIT and Pilates). All that said, I display leadership in all areas of my work and life and am ultimately out to experience making a real difference to people and planet!
One policy change I’d like to see: A WHOLElistic approach to policy. Everything is interconnected and our policies should mirror that.
If I could choose one superpower: to transform mindsets/open minds to new ways of viewing and managing our farm-scapes.
