Kaitlyn Lamb

Kia ora!

My name is Kaitlyn. I am immensely passionate about human, soil and ecosystem wellbeing (which is one interconnected health!). I am a compost encourager and an urban farmer. I grew up in Rotorua and in the last few years have come to find my love for growing food, especially for community wellbeing. Finding this, I was very lucky to work as a market gardener at Lux Organics. I am now a second year student at the University of Canterbury, studying a Bachelor of Science majoring in Geography (human geography), and minoring in French.

One policy change Iā€™d like to see: composting being mandatory in schools, with all the garden 'waste' and food 'waste' being composted on site. It would be groovy if there were compost educators paid to do this role by an organisation such as the Ministry for Education.

If I could choose one superpower: to help people turn their ikigai (look it up if you haven't heard of it) into a job or business.
