Kia ora!
I was born and raised in the 'big smoke', so I am an urbanite who is seeking to reconnect with the land and food. I am passionate about supporting a more sustainable future for our food and fibre industries. In particular, I believe research and innovation can propel change, as well as grassroots social movements. Originally coming from a food science background, I shifted my focus to understanding complex social problems and systems by completing a Master of Marketing from the University Otago. I am currently a PhD candidate at the University of Auckland exploring social license towards the use of gene editing technologies in our agri-food chain.
One policy change I'd like to see: embedding food system literacy into schools - lets reconnect people with where their food comes from!
